Tarot is a deck of card originally used for playing games but is now mainly used for divination and fortune-telling.

A traditional deck consists of 22 Major Arcana cards which represent archetypes (images like The Fool, The Emperor, The Devil) and 56 Minor Arcana cards which are similar to a standard pack of cards with 4 suits (often Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles). 

The cards are used to gain insight into the past, present or future through a process of drawing and interpreting cards in response to a question.
